On July 21, we celebrate the anniversary of Awakening Together’s first online gathering. Since that first gathering in 2013, Awakening Together has continued to grow as a universal assembly of peers dedicated to recognizing and embracing universal wisdom, regardless of the form in which it appears.
Awakening Together was born through The Foundation for the Holy Spirit, founded by Regina Dawn Akers, David Fishman, and Philip Frisk in 2006. In late 2012, Regina received the vision for Awakening Together, and in early 2013 she began working with a team of founding members to bring that vision into form. By December 2015, Awakening Together was officially recognized by the IRS as a church.
Since then, our community has continued to evolve. We have gathered in online sanctuaries, created and shared spiritual curriculum, ordained ministers, welcomed guest speakers and teachers, offered weekly programs, hosted online and in-person retreats, cared for the Awakening Together Retreat House in La Veta, Colorado, and supported one another in taking our next step with Spirit.
All of this has been possible because of the love, dedication, service, and generosity of our members and friends.
As we celebrate another year of Awakening Together, we also invite you to prayerfully consider making a donation in support of our shared purpose.
