Practice 1 — The Self Interest Scan (Temptation 1)
Ask:
- “Where is fear offering me solutions?”
- “Where am I tempted to act from insecurity rather than guidance?”
- “What would it mean to remain ‘hungry’—to wait for true guidance?”
Write your insights.
Practice 2 — The Power Temptation Inquiry (Temptation 2)
Ask:
- “Where do I seek influence, admiration, or being seen?”
- “Where does the ‘me’ try to regain itself through attention?”
- “What is my true desire beneath that?”
Write where ego power whispers.
Practice 3 — The Spiritual Ego Watchfulness (Temptation 3)
“Notice any spiritual gifts or clarity arising in you. Now ask: Does this inflate me or empty me?
Say inwardly: All I want is truth. Let this desire dissolve any subtle self satisfaction.”
