It has been said, “There is a lot of truth in fiction.” Spiritual seekers have long found truth in novels like Siddhartha, The Alchemist, Island, and more. Now, Regina Dawn Akers has written a historical novel, set on the 18th century American frontier, that points to non-dual awakening. In this 5-week retreat, we will read Claire of the Shifting Winds and explore themes planted in the novel including obstacles to awakening and the doorways through them. We’ll also get a felt sense of what awakening can be like. Join Regina for a book-group-style retreat exploring a story that points beyond stories, a historical adventure with a spiritual heart.
Participants will need a copy of Claire of the Shifting Winds – available through Amazon on November 30th. Either the paperback or hardcover book is recommended for page reference consistency during the retreat, although eBooks are welcome. No reading is required prior to the first session. Participants will be asked to read about 80 pages per week (2.5 to 3 hours) between sessions.
