Title: “What’s Bothering You?”
Description: Although the bigger question might be, “Who is the ‘you’ that is bothered?” I’m speaking to the times when this bigger question isn’t available. During this Weekly Gathering, we will explore how the mind turns an experience into something that bothers us by creating a fixed story about what happened, what it means, and how things are. Yet experience is constantly changing, and by the time the mind forms its story, the moment it is describing has already passed. We’ll look at how noticing this can help us loosen our grip on troubling thoughts, return our attention to present experience, and discover that—even in the midst of a problem—we can let go.
Reading: Jerry Frisicaro read from the transcript of a video by Angelo DiLullo titled “What’s Bothering You? Let’s Talk” which if I were to retitle I would call “There’s No Way that Things Are”.
