Title: “Leave a Little Room”
Description: What might reveal itself when we leave a little room around what we think we know?
In this homily, Rev. Meg will explore contemplation as a practice of receptivity: leaving a little room between experience and interpretation, between a question and our need for an answer, between what we already understand and what may still be trying to reach us.
Drawing from The Art of Contemplation, NTI, the Tao Te Ching, and the image of becoming lucid within a dream, we will consider the many ways understanding can arise through thought, intuition, image, relationship, silence, and even dreams. Perhaps guidance is not always something we need to find. Sometimes it becomes perceptible when certainty loosens and listening begins.
What might we hear if we leave a little room?
Reading: Monika Seidenbusch read from The Art of Contemplation by Regina Dawn Akers.
