Topic: “Tis the Season to Focus on….. Inquiry!”
Description: Inquiry is probably the last thing on most people’s mind in this holiday season. And yet, it may be the most valuable present you can give to yourself. From Angelo’s book Awake: It’s Your Turn: “What if I told you there was one particular approach to investigating your true nature that is so potent, so incisive, that it makes all others pale in comparison? Well it’s true. The approach I’m referring to is inquiry.” Join Rev. George as we explore this process called inquiry.

The Tao Te Ching (The Way), written by Lao-Tzu (Old Teacher), is a guide to enlightened leadership. While most people believe effective leadership lies in knowledge and power, the Tao teaches it lies in emptiness, stillness, and presence.
Awakening Together’s Vice President-Minister, Rev. Rhoda Makled, and Rev. David Hemphill share from the Tao as they contemplate its principles to fully embody them. In addition to the 2 versions already being read from the Tao, the pair will also read Regina Dawn Aker’s translation of the Tao Te Ching.

During this program, we will listen to a portion of each previously recorded “Clarifying the Teachings” program. Afterward, we will spend time contemplating and teaching ourselves what is most alive for us at the moment. We may also spend time practicing what Regina is teaching. And…we will start at the very beginning.
Bring your journals, openness, and curiosity as we explore what is most alive in us and ready to be seen. We hope you feel inspired to join.
7:30 pm – Live Satsang with Rev. Karen Worth
Rev. Karen’s journey towards understanding began in 2006 while standing at her mailbox. As the Course in Miracles teaches, “The wish to see calls down the grace of God upon your eyes and brings the gift of light that makes sight possible” (25:6:3:1). It was at this moment that Grace intervened, and Karen came to a profound realization that her own mind could be her downfall if she didn’t make a change. This marked the beginning of her path of surrendering to the truth.
Her journey started by working with the subconscious mind through CenterPoint Holosync meditation. She then progressed to working with the conscious mind through Vipassana meditations, A Course in Miracles (ACIM), and eventually Self Inquiry. Alongside these practices, she sought guidance from various gurus and teachers. It was during this time that she met Regina at a local ACIM meeting, which led her to further explorations, including ACIM gatherings, the CMC Ministerial program, Awakening Together’s MPP, Ramana Maharshi’s teachings, Michael Langford’s insights, and AHAM meditation and retreat center.
In 2018, Karen dedicated several weeks to a Rupert Spira meditation on Existence. She was determined to grasp the essence of Rupert’s teachings before moving forward. During a walk, she posed a profound question to her mind: “If I’m not the body, then what exists?” Everything came to a halt as her mind grappled with the question and eventually surrendered, realizing that it did not exist as a distinct identity. There was only existence. This revelation echoed the words of Moses, “I am that I AM.”
As a community, our mission is to guide individuals toward self-reliance on their inner wisdom, and Rev. Karen Worth exemplifies the heart of this mission through her personal journey of aligning with her inner wisdom. She will share how her path evolved from being an “Awakening Together member with a seeker identity” to experiencing the shedding of various identities.
We look forward to being with all who are able to join us.
