Recording ~ Sangha-Led Silent Retreat Information Session

Listen to Audio

If you are curious about being a part of our first in-person silent sangha-led retreat, please enjoy this recording of our information session which took place Sunday, February 8th 2026.

Led by Shawna SummersJane Marie Sobel and Rhoda Makled, this session includes an overview, open discussion, and Q&A on:

– What a Sangha-Led Retreat is
– How these retreats are created collaboratively
– Ways to contribute
– Whether this invitation resonates with you

This in-person silent retreat would be created and led collaboratively by the Sangha, offering a shared space for silence, practice, and connection at the Awakening Together Retreat House in La Veta, CO. Silence could include many things. Some examples include meditation, hiking, dyads, stillness, contemplation and the joy of simply being. These are just examples of some of the ways that a silent retreat might be imagined.

What is the purpose of Sangha-Led retreats?

The purpose of Sangha-led retreats is to provide participants with the opportunity to cultivate in real-time true humility, surrender and trust using our lived experience, thereby teaching ourselves what we most need to realize. Through these retreats, members will deepen their own realization while contributing to the shared spiritual growth of the community. In so doing, we will be embodying the core qualities of an effective sangha: living the spiritual teachings, teaching from authentic experience, and supporting one another on the spiritual path.
