Practicing the Presence Dyad Retreat

Following the “Pray without Ceasing” retreat (Oct 3-7), there will be an opportunity to practice our way of being as love while participating in an Intensive Self-Inquiry Dyad Retreat. The purpose is simple and direct: kensho. Kensho is a Zen term meaning “knowing who you really are.” All participants share one powerful and fundamental intention: to have a direct and conscious experience of the truth of who I am.
Angelo DiLullo describes how dyad practice facilitates this shift as follows, “…by undertaking a very precise investigation to the gap between thoughts in a sustained way, identification with the thought stream is broken. What remains is the Truth of what we are.”
While this points toward a singular experience, what’s truly available is something deeper: a transformation in perception that shifts the way we relate to all experiences. Experiences come and go—but this shift, once realized, remains.
The Buddha described this shift as “Entering the stream,” and it is this mystery participants will explore for themselves—what it entails, how it emerges, and what it offers to life going forward.
The purpose of this retreat can only be fulfilled if all participants are supported in giving the fullness of their attention solely to their intention, i.e., to have a direct experience of Truth. As such, this is a highly structured, silent retreat where participants agree not to access any device, computer or telephone. Contact information for the retreat house will be given in case emergency communication is required.
You do not have to have participated in “Pray without Ceasing” in order to attend this retreat.
Retreat Schedule
The retreat will begin on Wednesday at 5pm MT and end by 5pm MT on Saturday.
Retreat Fee: $395
(does not include lodging)

The remaining payment balance is due by August 8, 2025. If space is still available, registration will close on September 24, 2025, at 5:00 PM ET, with full payment due at the time of registration.
The retreat fee includes all meals beginning with dinner on Wednesday through breakfast on Sunday. There may be one optional dinner out with local Awakening Together friends!
Please note that lodging is separate from the retreat fee. The Retreat House has a limited number of rooms available. There are also local options within walking distance to the Retreat House.
