Norma Clarke has resigned as the Vice Chairperson of Awakening Together’s Board of Directors, and we’d like to say:
Thank you so much for your years of service, Norma!
Norma has always been a significant background contributor to Awakening Together. In fact, she was a contributor before Awakening Together was formed!
Norma and Regina first met at a retreat in Texas in June 2008. Norma became a supporter of Regina’s work soon after that.
Norma joined the Foundation for the Holy Spirit’s Board of Directors in March 2010. She was one of the Board members who, in December 2012, approved Regina’s guidance to form Awakening Together.
Norma became Awakening Together’s Vice Chairperson in 2013 and served in that role until giving her resignation on September 27 of this year. As a founding Board member, Norma is one of the Board Members who signed Awakening Together’s Constitution and participated in a 3-day meeting to determine Awakening Together’s governing foundation, including our Financial Philosophy, Growth Philosophy and originating Policies and Procedures.
Although you may not know Norma from the Sanctuary, she has kept a keen eye (or shall we say a keen ear) on Awakening Together through our audio recordings. She has always paid close attention to our needs and played a pivotal role in making sure we had the resources we needed to function.
Norma represented the Board of Directors by visiting La Veta in June 2018 to tour what is now our Retreat House. She was there when we went in the house for the first time. She was there when we sat down with the realtor to make an offer. Like many of you, she gifted us with a generous donation so we could purchase the Retreat House.
Some of you may remember Norma from previous pilgrimages. Norma traveled with Regina on two trips to Israel and one trip to India.
Again, we say a very hearty thank you to Norma for all that she has done. We know she will continue to remain in the background providing quiet service for Awakening Together when she feels called to do so.
