Have you ever wanted to do The Artist’s Way – a 12 week spiritual self-guided study to unlock your connection to creative flow? Anne Blanchard and Helen Avery are starting the Artist’s Way, January 5th, with Week 1 of the self-guided course commencing January 12th. This is a FREE course and all are welcome to join if this calls to you.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Artist’s Way, it is a 12-week self-led spiritual program laid out in the book of the same title. It was designed by Julia Cameron and has been used by millions around the world to tap into their higher creativity. As Cameron says: ‘The heart of creativity is an experience of the mystical union, the heart of the mystical union is an experience of creativity.”.
The 12 weeks consist primarily of a commitment to:
- Morning Pages – where you will write three pages each morning of mind dumps.
- A Weekly Artist’s Date – where you commit to spending an hour or two of time on your own doing something nurturing or playful.
The book also provides other weekly reflections or tasks for self discovery to choose from. If you’re interested, you should factor in roughly an hour a day of commitment.
Recognizing it’s more fun and easier to do these things with others, Anne and Helen will open the Sanctuary at 11am ET, 4pm UKT every Monday for those who similarly want to do the program and who are looking for a place to share/encourage accountability. This is very informal and you can just pop in when you have time, or if that time doesn’t work and you want some buddies to walk with over the 12 weeks there will be a whatsapp group too!
This will start Monday January 5th with a read of the introduction, but to allow time to purchase the book, we won’t start week one practice until January 12th.
You will need a copy of the book. It does not matter which version of the book, but we recommend the 25th or 30th anniversary editions of the book if it’s a new purchase. They cost around $15 to $20 on Amazon, but it might be easy to also find a secondhand and cheaper copy.
