Awakening Together Ministers

Awakening Together has two types of ministers, ordained and licensed. Awakening Together’s purpose for ordaining and licensing ministers is to ensure the discernment of the assembly remains pure without confusing the teachings of Awakening Together with teachings from other traditions, theologies or ideologies that may not be wholly aligned with our purpose and values

An ordained minister has the authority to lead Awakening Together weekly gatherings and special assemblies, officiate weddings and funerals, provide spiritual counseling and administer other sacraments as requested by members. There is no limit to the number of ordained ministers permitted in our assembly. In order to apply for the Awakening Together Minister Preparation Program, one must be a member called from within to be a servant of the one true Self through Awakening Together.

A licensed minister has the authority to lead an Awakening Together weekly gathering when the scheduled ordained minister is not available. A licensed minister may also facilitate Awakening Together special assemblies. Licensed ministers (LM) must serve on either the Board of Directors or Member Board of Trustees in order to maintain their license. A licensed minister may not officiate weddings, provide spiritual counseling or administer other sacraments.
