Join Us for this Month’s Movie ~ “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”

Join us for our next Movie Watcher’s Group, facilitated by Rev. Marisol Landin, on Sunday, August 24th, 2025, at 7pm ET.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a 2004 Sci-Fi/RomCom Film. After a painful breakup, Clementine (Kate Winslet) undergoes a procedure to erase memories of her former boyfriend Joel (Jim Carrey) from her mind. When Joel discovers that Clementine is going to extremes to forget their relationship, he undergoes the same procedure and slowly begins to forget the woman that he loved. Directed by former music video director Michel Gondry, the visually arresting film explores the intricacy of relationships and the pain of loss.

Beneath its sci-fi premise, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind offers a spiritual meditation on identity, memory, and love. From a non-dual perspective, the film invites us to consider what remains when the stories we tell about ourselves—and each other—are stripped away. As Joel journeys through the dissolution of memory, we glimpse the ever-present awareness that underlies all experience, untouched by time or loss. In letting go of the mind’s clinging to pain and narrative, the film points toward the deeper truth of connection that transcends memory, reminding us that love is not something we remember—it’s what we are.

Join us for a night of heart-opening cinema as we journey through memory, love, and the illusion of separation in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Watch the film beforehand, then gather with us in the Sanctuary on Sunday, August 24th at 7PM ET
