I have no cause for anger or for fear,
For You surround me. And in every need
That I perceive, Your grace suffices me.

“Those who care the most about what other people think, end up creating the least of what they truly came here to become. Those who care the least about what other people think, are the only ones crazy and powerful enough to create a new and better world for all.” Bentinho Massaro (social media post)
In this series, Regina repeats the teaching she shared at the 2016 Awakening Together Fall Retreat. Just like at the retreat, Regina focuses on awakening skills including meditation, contemplation, journaling, inquiry techniques, mind-watching and awareness.

Rev. Jay Mc’Cormick’s topic was “The Real that Remains”. The secret to inner growth is to meet an old condition in a new way, with the help of the inner spirit. We can leap past the outer layers of surface personality even while fearing to do so, until all fear vanishes. This is where we discover the Self, the true being, our true nature beyond the illusion and are moved by spirit.
The Reader was Rev. Carrie Christiansen. The Reading: “The Real that Remains” Pathway #96 from “The Sufi Book of Life” by Neil Douglas-Klotz

“All our lives long, we identify with our thoughts, our self-image, or our feelings. We have to find a way to get behind this view to discover the face we had before we were born. We must discover who we are in God, who we’ve always been… This is the first goal of contemplation.” Fr. Richard Rohr (Nonviolence: Weekly Summary)

“We have a choice between two very different ways to meet what arises in experience. The first is to rely on explanations. We interpret our experiences in life according to a set of deeply held assumptions. … The other way is to open and be willing to receive, not control, whatever arises – that is, not only allow but embrace every sensation, feeling, and thought, everything we experience. In this approach, we allow our experience to challenge our assumptions.” Ken McLeod (Something from Nothing)
