Mr. Church is the story of a unique friendship that develops when a young girl and her dying mother are gifted the cooking services of Henry Joseph Church played by Eddie Murphy. A six-month arrangement unfolds into a lifelong friendship. A few of the many themes include childlike resistance and acceptance (in all ages); opening to receiving grace; giving richly while also keeping a part of the mind walled off to conceal hidden/unhealed pain/unworthiness that seeps out anyway, eventually leading to full opening to Love’s Presence; being/living in the present.
