During the second year of Gentle Healing, we contemplate one spiritual thought each day, spend 30-60 minutes in meditation, read a tip written by Regina, and read a brief reading assignment associated with the tip. Each thought for contemplation and each day’s tip are numbered. On the first day, contemplate Thought for Awakening #1, and read the tip and associated reading for Day 1. On the second day, contemplate Thought for Awakening #2, and read the tip and associated reading for Day 2. Continue to follow that pattern through Thought #365 and the tip & reading for Day 365.
Thoughts of Awakening
In the second year of Gentle Healing, we focus on Thoughts of Awakening: 365 Thoughts for Contemplation. Each of the 365 thoughts is intended for a full day’s contemplation. They are to be read and contemplated repeatedly throughout the day. If you read and contemplate each thought deeply for a full day, you’ll experience shifts this year.
The best way to devote yourself to each thought is:
- Read the thought in the morning, and spend time contemplating it.
- Write what comes to you as you contemplate the thought.
- Keep the day’s thought with you and review it multiple times throughout the day. The more you review it, the better. The goal is to absorb it as deeply as possible.
- Also review whatever you wrote as you contemplated the day’s thought that morning. If what you wrote is long, you might not to be able to review it as often as you review that day’s thought, but review your writing enough to put it into practice. Practicing the guidance that came to you through your writing is the most important part of this process.
Guided Meditation Audios
Karen Worth created 30-minute guided meditations based on the Thoughts of Awakening for Year 2. The guided meditations are optional, but most students find them helpful. You can find them on the Awakening Together website under Audios & Videos, Meditation Audios, Thoughts of Awakening.
If you decide not to mediate with the guided meditations, please practice awareness-watching-awareness, loving consciousness, or the abandon release method of meditation for 30 – 60 minutes each day.
Regina’s Tips
Regina’s Year 2 tips introduce each day’s reading assignment. You’ll find the reading assignment in the tip’s post title. Please read the tip before you read that day’s reading material. The tips help focus attention for the reading.
Daily Reading
We read a short amount of supporting material each day in Year 2. The reading comes from three books. Those books are The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament (NTI), The Teachings of Inner Ramana and The Direct Means to Eternal Bliss. You’ll find each day’s reading assignment in Regina’s Tips.
