A universal assembly for true discernment
Awakening Together was planned so that no one person or group has sole leadership of the organization. Similar to the US Government, it was built with checks and balances. Here is a summary of how those checks and balances work:
Board of Directors is the highest authority in the Awakening Together. The Board of Directors elects their own peers from nominees; however all nominees must be approved by a majority of the Board of Trustees.
With the exception of three appointed positions (President, Vice President and Sanctuary Director), Board of Trustees are elected by Awakening Together members.
Board of Trustees and its subcommittees, which are made up of members, is responsible for day-to-day management of Awakening Together. The President-Minister is responsible to oversee the Trustees and sub-committees.
The President-Minister has primary responsibility for the budget and spending, Awakening Together contracts, minister ordination program and supervision of employees and volunteers. Board of Directors oversees the the President-Minister.
If you look at the previous paragraphs, you will see no person or group is left solely on its own authority without a check or balance by another person or group.

Please join the Board of Directors and Member Board of Trustees in welcoming Jennifer Maile Nahulu, Ken Gibson and Ted Poppe Jr to the Member Board of Trustees. Jennifer, Ken and Ted were elected by Awakening Together members to the Member Board of Trustees on July 21, 2014.

Jennifer Maile Nahulu
Jennifer Maile Nahulu is a student and teacher of A Course In Miracles and an Awakening Together Licensed Minister. She was given ACIM in 2009 and studied alone until she began teaching it 2 years later when she found Gather radio (now Awakening Together Sanctuary). Some of her influences include Alan Watts, Byron Katie, Tool, Abraham, Terrence McKenna and Michael Tsarion. Music is her motivation. Maile has a Science Degree, attended Metro for Communication/Graphic Design and is a certified Reiki master. She has contributed some of her graphic design talent to the Awakening Together website. Maile also designed Awakening Together’s logo.

Ken Gibson
Ken’s willingness to explore spiritual and metaphysical concepts has taken him on an interesting journey over the past ten years. Some of Ken’s spiritual influences include “Disappearance of the Universe”, A Course in Miracles, Regina Dawn Akers and Brent Haskell. Inspired to be of service, Ken enrolled in Awakening Together’s Minister Preparation Program (MPP) and is an Awakening Together Licensed Minister. Ken holds an MBA from the University of La Verne and his work experience has been primarily in financial systems and international contract negotiations. In addition, he has been both a church treasurer and financial advisor.

Theodore H. Poppe Jr.
In 1986 after a history of substance abuse that led to heroin and cocaine addiction, Ted underwent a revelatory experience which was precipitated by hearing the Voice of Jesus ask, “Are you ready yet to help me save the world?” With this, Ted understood God was not punishing him and any pain he had caused could be undone. This led to Ted’s discovery of A Course in Miracles and several years leadership service with Endeavor Academy. Ted is the founder of Diamond Clear Vision, which publishes ACIM Sparkle Edition, the NTI audiobook, The Keys to NTI and The Teachings of Inner Ramana.
Cindy Renard is absent and Gary Renard takes the wonderful opportunity to share on Paltalk about his third book Love has Forgotten No One.
Regina Dawn Akers reads from a section of Inner Ramana titled How to Awaken from the Dream part Two.
Diederik Wolsak tries to share with the listeners the intimate ego busting experience that Choose Again offers. Diederik discusses the beliefs and emotions behind addiction, the spiritual ego, and attachment to the ego. Willingness to feel what’s coming up, how to notice reactions and provocations, how to tell when the ego is speaking, and what the proper use of forgiveness is. As always, Diederik does an exemplary job at revealing beliefs, and even goes forward to explain to the audience what the experience of “What Is” would be like without the ego.

September 20-22, 2013, the Awakening Together Board of Directors and Member Board Trustees gathered together in Canon City, Colorado. One purpose of that meeting was to sign the Awakening Together Constitution. It was agreed to and signed on September 21. A copy of the Constitution is posted on our website.
