A universal assembly for true discernment
Regina Dawn Akers guides a group of committed students who would like to make consistent, gentle progress toward genuine peace, joy and love.
Regina Dawn Akers reads selections from books by Bernadette Roberts. The purpose of this inspired book study is to learn from one who walked through the final doorway to no self, no world, no God–Only Reality.
In this session of the Guiding Light, Regina also shared from Bernadette Roberts Video, A Path to No Self.
If you would like to hear Bernadette’s teaching in her own words, you can view her teaching video on YouTube.
Topic: “All is Well. Can anything not be perfect?”
Description: Feel headless to let go of thinking and dive into the heart in order to ‘feel’ your authentic experience.
Reading: Anne Blanchard read Sutra 82 from The Book of Secrets by Osho.
Somewhat like a crescendo, this retreat will build in intensity for the first five days. You’ll experience two days of gradually increasing clarity through group meditation, contemplation and discussion, and then you’ll dive deep into Self awareness with three days of self-inquiry dyads.
What are self-inquiry dyads?
A self-inquiry dyad is when two people practice self-inquiry together, and they share everything they experience with one another as they look within. Psychologists have discovered that people go deeper within themselves in dyads than they do when looking at themselves alone, and we agree. Self-inquiry dyads are surprisingly effective! At this retreat, you’ll have the opportunity to practice self-inquiry dyads in several different dyad pairs.
After dyads, we’ll end the Self Awareness retreat with two days of wrap up, relaxation and fun including spiritual music by AT member, Jackie Greggs.

This retreat is planned specifically for you. Between now and the beginning of the retreat, you may submit questions or topics that you’d like addressed at the retreat. Regina Dawn Akers will design an experience-based retreat focused on your submissions, making this retreat participatory instead of lecture-based. In addition, she will plan fun “field trips” to places in and around La Veta, so everyone also has the chance to enjoy one another’s company.
This retreat is called “Satsang and Sangha” because it combines wisdom, clarity and togetherness into one fun and insightful week. Like peanut butter and chocolate, satsang and sangha is the perfect combination for Awakening Together’s annual retreat.

Description: Are our thoughts the only thing creating problems? Many sages and wisdom teachings suggest contentment is one key to the door of Awakening – can we get there authentically?
*Weekly gathering is held every Sunday morning at 10:15 am ET/7:15 am PT in the Awakening Together Sanctuary. Join us after the Gathering for our Fellowship Time, hosted by Rev. Jay McCormick.

Congratulations to our two newly elected Trustees, Jay McCormick and George Maddox.
It was a close election. All four of the nominees would have made great Trustees, and that showed up in the close election results.
We want to thank each of the nominees for being willing to serve as a Trustee.
I look forward to working with the new Trustees as they serve their term over the next 3 years.
Sincerely,
Rev. Regina Dawn Akers
President-Minister
Regina Dawn Akers looked at the November 20, 1980 conversation in Consciousness and the Absolute.
Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert shares with honesty and passion about the ups, downs, and all-around of the spiritual journey. Jacquelyn is transparent as she shares about the impersonal awakening process we all experience. She moves us with stories from her own journey, with direct insight from inner wisdom and with guidance from spiritual masters, both contemporary and legendary.
Regina Dawn Akers reads from the Tao Te Ching in order to contemplate enlightened leadership.
What is the ‘I Am Bad’ Belief?
A Course in Miracles calls it “guilt.” The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament (NTI) calls it “unworthiness.” Regina Dawn Akers simply calls it the “I am bad” belief.
No matter what you call it, it is an untrue belief, most likely adopted in early childhood, which drives actions and reactions in nearly all humans. People make life decisions that they wouldn’t otherwise make because of this belief’s influence. This belief is the primary cause of stress, annoyance, anger, jealousy and other types of mental and emotional suffering. If you release this one belief, your life will be happier, and you will feel much freer than you do with the belief.
The ‘I am Bad’ belief is unconscious for some and somewhat conscious for others, but until it is brought fully into consciousness, the belief cannot be eradicated.
This retreat will focus solely on how to release the ‘I am bad’ belief. If you come, you will learn what you need to learn to be set free! The retreat is led by Regina Dawn Akers.
The retreat will begin at 10am on Monday, August 12 and end at 3pm on Friday, August 16. We recommend arriving in La Veta on or before Sunday, August 11 and departing on or after Saturday, August 17.
All guests are welcome to stay at the AT Retreat House for up to 28 days. Longer stays are possible with permission.
