I was so looking forward to starting and Sunday felt drawn and excited. Today I'm feeling resistance to another "commitment" to write after reading Day2's assignment. I will use this opportunity to explore the resistance to writing. It seems to be just the writing, not watching the videos, reading NTI or contemplations. So as Fran gave us "permission" to do this as guided I will see where this takes me. Not sure how often I will post; time will tell. 

Deep Gratitude to Fran for following her guidance to start 500 days. What a beautiful job she did Sunday facillitating the first meeting.

Upon reading this passage for the first time, I felt a sense of unease. "The Christ" is a difficult symbol for me then, but the word "love" is even harder for me to grasp. The Chinese character 愛 has evolved from the composition of two characters to a later-added bottom part. “Top character” means “open mouth after a very satisfactory meal” or “yawn,” implying “complete, to the limit,” and “heart” means “dedicated.” These two top parts mean “ultimate benevolence of the heart." The translation of love in Chinese seems to be an arbitrary adoption of this character to mean love. I can use this Chinese word, which now means “love,” to remember the heart energy to dedicate every movement in life to walking with the Holy Spirit, as in NTI 1 Corinthians: “My servant is one who walks with Me.” 

I wholeheartedly embrace the opportunity to dedicate my heart energy as we gently walk together with the teachings of the Holy Spirit during these study and contemplation sessions with the group.

Notes as we gather to begin:

- We take the path provided by this course as fellow students. We journey at our own pace, often solitary, checking in for companionship and to encourage one another. 


- Feel free to join us at any point along the journey.


- I encourage you to keep a notebook of your notes and contemplations for personal reference. Forum posts are not permanent and are archived occasionally.


- Feel free to start a personal topic to post your contemplations and notes you would like to share. My own topic will be named something like: “Fran's 500 Days with NTI posts”
. 

- We have an hour set aside on Sundays (12:30 to 1:30 ET, beginning October 19, 2025 - when we will begin Day 1 together) in the Awakening Together Zoom Sanctuary: Reflecting on Our Journey: 500 days with NTI. This optional weekly opportunity will allow us to meet “in person” and look back over the previous week, discuss, and share highlights along the way.


- This self- study course provides a focus for deep practice within the context of a busy work and home schedule. The forum allows for asynchronous interaction, meaning all with a connection to the internet can participate regardless of time zone or schedule.

- Have a copy of the New Testament available to read when a bible icon appears in NTI.

- Acquaint yourself with our text. Check out both the chapter summaries at the beginning as well as the extensive index at the back. These resources are a great way to see the topics embodied in this course as we become better acquainted with our inner teacher.
