Today we continue with looking at the self concept issue that most of us experience.\u00a0 In yesterday’s tip, Jacquelyn pointed out “Most of us have an unworthiness or ‘I am bad’ belief.\u00a0 In fact, only those who have transcended the belief are not beleaguered by it, in one form or another.”\u00a0 When I read the title of today’s lesson my thought was, if this is true–I am as God created me–then I can’t be bad.\u00a0 That is why as this lesson says this idea brings complete salvation.\u00a0 I’m not bad because of what I am.\u00a0 I am God’s Son.\u00a0 I am the Life Force that moves through everything.\u00a0 Through Connie.\u00a0 Through the tree.\u00a0 I am the animating factor that is.\u00a0 I am and you are the window that consciousness looks through.<\/p>\n
Today’s lesson says, “Darkness cannot obscure the glory of the Son of God.”\u00a0 How could Darkness obscure the Life force that moves through everything? What is darkness, but unforgiven appearances? Like what? Oh, the I am bad thought.\u00a0 The bedrock of our unforgiven appearance is our belief that we are the body\/mind\/personality.\u00a0 The I am bad concept is just meant to maintain that bedrock belief.\u00a0 It is meant to keep us involved in the story.\u00a0 If I continue to believe I am a human being will I “attempt to feel the truth in [me]” as this lesson asks us to do with the first five minutes of each waking hour?\u00a0 “Now try to reach the Son of God in you.\u00a0 This is the Self Which never left Its home in God, to walk the world uncertainly.\u00a0 This is the Self Which knows no fear, nor could conceive of loss or suffering or death.”\u00a0 This is the Self that knows its truth.<\/p>\n
Self inquiry is a tool that helps us see that truth. It is important to recognize that Self Inquiry requires us to actually look!<\/p>\n
Many people who study A Course in Miracles study at the level of mind\u2013at the level of thinking\u2013so when they come to Lesson 94, they adopt the idea, \u201cI am as God created me,\u201d including their imagination of what that means to them. It doesn\u2019t penetrate very deep, because it is only at the level of mind.<\/p>\n
We are now at the phase of Self-inquiry. Self-inquiry has nothing to do with thinking. Self-inquiry is LOOKING. For people who believe everything is resolved by thinking, it takes practice to drop thinking and practice looking, but it can be done. With looking you have the attitude of, \u201cWhat am I?\u201d and then you LOOK with inner-looking, intuitive looking, to realize the answer.<\/p>\n
Mooji, in the video that follows, asks us, “What is it that simply is?\u201d\u00a0 Self inquiry looks!\u00a0 It looks past the concepts.\u00a0 “I am as God created me.”\u00a0 Self inquiry looks and sees the truth of that.\u00a0 We are not a character who is bad or even good, as this lesson tries to convey,\u00a0 we are the “Self That never sinned, nor made an image to replace reality.”\u00a0 We are awareness being aware.\u00a0 Will you inquire to the truth of you and all that is?<\/p>\n
