Yesterday we contemplated this definition of sacrifice:<\/p>\n

An\u00a0act of giving up something valued for the sake of something else regarded as more\u00a0important\u00a0or worthy.<\/p>\n

We are asked to sacrifice our attachment to mind in order to awaken to true perception.<\/p>\n

Do you feel that\u2019s a worthy sacrifice?<\/p>\n

Is it a sacrifice you want to make?<\/p>\n

As we\u2019ve learned before, desire is the most important factor in awakening. If you really want to sacrifice the attachment to mind and awaken to true perception, you will follow through and do that.<\/p>\n

How?<\/p>\n

By using the practices that we\u2019ve been introduced to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Daily reading and contemplation<\/li>\n
  2. Journaling with inner wisdom<\/li>\n
  3. Awareness-watching-awareness meditation<\/li>\n
  4. The loving all method<\/li>\n
  5. Surrender<\/li>\n
  6. Practicing the mantra<\/li>\n
  7. Questioning mental chatter to see if it is \u201cme\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Eventually, you will be able to drop the first two on the list and live with practices 3-7.<\/p>\n

    One who desires awakening makes spiritual practice the focus of his\/her daily life. Today\u2019s message refers to that as devotion<\/em>. Devotion is living from within. We awaken from the dream through devotion.<\/p>\n

    Today\u2019s message also says:<\/p>\n

    Devotion is a slow process.<\/p>\n

    That means when we are devoted, we aren\u2019t quick to react. Instead, we check within before responding to any outer stimulus. Instead of living from the fast-paced chaos of mind, we are deeply surrendered within.<\/p>\n
