Today\u2019s reading says:<\/p>\n

All are invited into the Awareness of God,
\nand none are to be left out.<\/p>\n

And then, it introduces the obstacle to the Awareness of God. It calls the obstacle, \u201ca wish.\u201d<\/p>\n

NTI Acts 23 said, \u201c\u2026cruelty lives in you as a wish.\u201d However, that isn\u2019t the wish that today\u2019s reading is about. The wish that today\u2019s reading is about is the source of the wish for cruelty. It is also the source of unworthiness, guilt, fear, and etcetera.<\/p>\n

What is the wish?<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll find out tomorrow. Today, it\u2019s important that we contemplate six teachings regarding the wish first:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The wish is inside of your mind, not someone else\u2019s.<\/li>\n
  2. The wish is subconscious, and so it may not immediately be seen as your wish.<\/li>\n
  3. The wish is only a thought, and so it is nothing at all.<\/li>\n
  4. The wish hasn\u2019t had any actual effects.<\/li>\n
  5. The fact that you could explore your wish is cause for joy and gratitude.<\/li>\n
  6. Now that the wish has been explored, it can be let go.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I\u2019d like to comment on the first teaching in that list, and then I will leave it to you to contemplate the remaining teachings with inner spiritual intuition.<\/p>\n

    The wish is inside of my mind, not someone else\u2019s<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    On Day 125<\/a>, we learned that \u2018you\u2019 refers to everyone and everything manifest. If your name is Sally or Harry, \u2018you\u2019 does not refer to Sally or Harry alone. \u2018You\u2019 refers to everything manifest. \u2018You\u2019 refers to consciousness appearing as something\u2014as many things\u2014other than consciousness. So, when NTI Romans says the wish is inside of your mind, it is referring to the one \u2018you\u2019 that we all are.<\/p>\n

    At the same time, we cannot heal this wish if we see it in other people\u2019s minds instead of in our own. That\u2019s why NTI says, \u201cThis wish is not within anyone else, although you would rather see it there.\u201d<\/p>\n

    If we see others as responsible, we deny our own responsibility. When we deny our own responsibility, the wish continues subconsciously.<\/p>\n

    If we are to heal the obstacle to the Awareness of God\u2014which is healing the obstacle to unity consciousness\u2014we need to see the wish as \u201cin my mind.\u201d Everyone else is permitted to be exactly as they are. In fact, it is helpful to see everyone as perfect just as they are. If anything is upsetting to me, I look in my mind for the root cause of the upset. By always taking responsibility \u00a0<\/em>whenever I am upset, the wish is healed in me.<\/p>\n

    Likewise, we avoid healing when we blame others for our upset.<\/p>\n

    After reading today\u2019s reading, please contemplate the remaining teachings in the list above as you journal with inner spiritual wisdom. You might try asking questions like:<\/p>\n

    What do I need to know about the wish being subconscious?<\/p>\n

    What is meant by, \u201cThe wish is only a thought, and so it is nothing at all?\u201d<\/p>\n

    Etcetera.<\/p>\n

    Feel free to form your own questions. Inner wisdom will help you ask the questions that are most helpful for you to ask.<\/p>\n
