In 1973 while in college studying engineering, Magdi was walking to the library on campus when consciousness knocked unexpectedly on his door and, as he says in his own words, “revealed to me that I was not what I thought I was. In a flash, I realized that the person I took myself to be is a figment of the universe’s imagination. A deep stillness and joy revealed itself.
