Today is Your Last Chance to Attend a Zoom Training Session

These instructions are for PCs and Macs. This week’s Zoom training is not for smart phones or tablets. However, you can download the Zoom app for smartphones and tablets from your app store, and then you can enter the Sanctuary following the instructions at #3 below.

The final three training sessions are being offered today.

You can access the Online Awakening Together Sanctuary through Zoom on your computer or mobile device. Here’s how:

1. The following link is the link you will use to enter the Awakening Together Sanctuary in Zoom. The link will only take you to the Sanctuary during the Sanctuary’s Open Hours.  However, you can also use the link to download the Zoom App. If this is the first time you have used Zoom, once you click the link, you will be guided through the download and installation process on your device. You do not need to create an account to use the Zoom App to enter the sanctuary.

2. If the Sanctuary is not open when you install the Zoom App, you will get a message that says, “Waiting for the host to start the meeting”. If you get this message, click on Leave and then confirm you want to leave the meeting. If the Sanctuary is open when you install the Zoom App, you will be taken directly into the Sanctuary after the installation is complete.

3. Once the app has been installed on your computer, there are a few ways to enter the Awakening Together Sanctuary. You can open the Sanctuary from a page on the Awakening Together website or you can open the Sanctuary from the Zoom App.

To open the Sanctuary from our website, go to either of the following pages on the website and click Enter the Sanctuary:

How to Enter the Sanctuary

Both pages are found under the Online Sanctuary menu on the menu bar. The Sanctuary Program Schedule can also be accessed by clicking the Sanctuary Schedule icon on the website homepage.

If you prefer to enter the Sanctuary from the Zoom App, you can do so by following these steps. (This only works if you’ve entered the Sanctuary at least once before.):

1. Open the Zoom App on your computer.

2. Click on Join a Meeting

3. Click on the dropdown arrow in the Meeting ID or Personal Link Name box and select Awakening Together Sanctuary from the list. (This will only work if you clicked the Sanctuary link at least once before.)

4. Once you’ve selected the Sanctuary, the following code will appear in the box. Click Join to enter the Sanctuary.

PLEASE NOTE:
If you have difficulty using the Zoom App or you want to dialing using the telephone:
Dial 1-408-638-0986  or 1-646-876-9923
You will then be asked for the Meeting ID, which is: 862 361 2484 followed by #
Note: You will be asked to hit # one more time before entering the Sanctuary.

Tips from Regina ~ Day 298, Instructions for Using the Mantra

As we saw yesterday, in the language of The Teachings of Inner Ramana, Self-realization is the equivalent of true perception, which is awakening to consciousness. One is “awake” when one awakens to reality, the First Principle of God.

Today’s reading says that quieting the mind is essential to Self-realization. It also says that the purpose of the mantra is to help us quiet the mind. That is the same as saying that the purpose of the mantra is to help us disengage from mental chatter.

Today’s reading shares four guidelines for effective use of the mantra. Please review the guidelines carefully so you can remember them and practice the mantra in the way today’s reading recommends. Also, remember to practice surrender today as it was taught on Day 296.

The Fourth Quarter Member Meeting is This Sunday

Join us in the Awakening Together Sanctuary this coming Sunday night, December 2, at 8pm ET/5pm Pacific for the Fourth Quarter Member Meeting. The agenda for this quarter’s meeting is:

  • Retreat House Update including an Announcement about the Grand Opening and first retreats

The meeting will be led by Regina Dawn Akers. It will also be recorded and posted on our website under Audios & Videos, Member Meetings.

Reminder: The Sanctuary will be in Zoom starting this Sunday. To enter the Sanctuary, go to the Sanctuary Schedule page on our website, and then click Enter the Sanctuary in Zoom.

Tips from Regina ~ Day 297, The Purpose of Surrender, Part Two

In order to have clarity regarding today’s reading, it is helpful to remember that there are two states of mind and beyond mind.

The first state of mind is deluded. When one is deluded, she believes she is a person in a world. She values mental chatter as her real thoughts.

The second state of mind is true perception. One who perceives with true perception is disengaged from mental chatter. He follows spontaneous intuition. He has the experience of being human in a world, but he is aware that everything is consciousness. In today’s reading, one who experiences this state of mind is referred to as Self-realized.

Beyond mind is beyond perception entirely. As we learned on Day 292, there is no sense of self in awake reality. The body that is perceived by others as the awakened one is moved by consciousness—by “the code”—but there is no sense of ‘I am.’ There is no interpretation, no mind and no world beyond mind. Only the absolute exists.

In order to move from deluded to Self-realized, it is helpful to live as if you are Self-realized  before you are Self-realized. By living as if you are Self-realized, you awaken into the Self-realized state.

How do you live as if you are Self-realized?

  1. Remember that fear (upset) does not come from circumstances in the world, and resolving situations in the world does not transcend fear. You transcend fear by remembering reality. When you experience fear, practice rest-accept-trust, awareness-watching-awareness or look at your thoughts with clarity.
  2. Practice surrender as it was taught in yesterday’s reading. Live by following intuition instead of mental chatter.
  3. When you find yourself caught up in thoughts about the world, let go of mental chatter by practicing the mantra. Thoughts about the world include thoughts about your personal life, your work, the personal life of others, politics, and etcetera.

Today is a good day to begin living as if you are Self-realized. That doesn’t mean you should pretend you are Self-realized. That doesn’t mean you should be dishonest with yourself about your state of mind. It simply means this: Live your life by following the three recommendations above.
