The Retreat House Subcommittee is making progress toward our goal of opening the Retreat House on January 19, 2019. The bedrooms are nearly ready, and nine retreats have been planned and scheduled. More retreats will be added to our calendar soon.

There will be three Gentle Healing Groups in 2019 as the two current groups advance to the next year and an all new  Gentle Healing Year 1 Group begins.

This class is 6 weeks long.

A Course in Miracles is a complete self-study spiritual thought system. As a three-volume curriculum consisting of a Text, Workbook for Students, and Manual for Teachers, it teaches that the way to universal love and peace—or remembering God—is by undoing guilt through forgiving others. The Course thus focuses on the healing of relationships and making them holy. A Course in Miracles also emphasizes that it is but one version of the universal curriculum, of which there are “many thousands.” Consequently, even though the language of the Course is that of traditional Christianity, it is a universal spiritual teaching.

In this class you will:

1. The participant will become familiar with main themes taught in A Course in Miracles.

2. The participant will apply the teachings of A Course in Miracles to the everyday circumstances that arise in his/her daily life.

3. The participant will practice the first forty-two lessons of A Course in Miracles Workbook for Students.

Class Dates & Times:

Thursday evenings, January 10-February 14, 2019 from 7:30pm – 9:30pm ET. Homework begins January 4. Facilitator: Rev. Jay McCormick

Self-Inquiry Retreat

January 21-25, 2019

Awakening Together Retreat House

This retreat is based on the teaching of Indian sage, Ramana Maharshi. At this retreat, you will learn the subtleties of self-inquiry. You will participate in guided self-inquiry, meditative self-inquiry, self-inquiry with a partner, journaling based on self-inquiry, and you will contemplate and discuss quotes by Ramana Maharshi.

The purpose of this retreat is to help you make advances in the process of self-inquiry in a very short time, so when you go home from the retreat you will be able to use self-inquiry more effectively to abide in the true Self and detach from the false self. Each participant will receive a book of Ramana Maharshi quotes about self-inquiry.

Retreat Schedule

The retreat will begin at 10am on Monday, January 21 and end at 3pm on Friday, January 25. We recommend arriving in La Veta on or before Sunday, January 20 and departing on or after Saturday, January 26. The Awakening Together Retreat House opens to guests on Saturday, January 19. You are welcome to stay at the Retreat House for up to 28 days. Longer stays require special permission.

Retreat Fee: $200.
$50 non-refundable deposit.

Ken was our Sanctuary Director from October 1, 2016 until December 5, 2018. That is over 2 full years of dedicated service, and we are fully grateful. During Ken’s tenure, he helped create the safe and kind Sanctuary that Awakening Together envisioned, and then he helped us transition to our new Sanctuary in Zoom.

Ken, your effect on our Sanctuary will be long remembered and appreciated. Enjoy retirement!

The Awakening Together Radio is moving to a new location, and there will be no radio broadcast during the move.

The radio will broadcast throughout the day today while the Sanctuary is open. Once the Sanctuary closes for the day, the radio will go down for the move.

The radio will be brought back online from its new home sometime tomorrow.

How to Enter the Sanctuary

Both pages are found under the Online Sanctuary menu on the menu bar. The Sanctuary Program Schedule can also be accessed by clicking the Sanctuary Schedule icon on the website homepage.

If you prefer to enter the Sanctuary from the Zoom App, you can do so by following these steps(This method will only work if you’ve entered the Sanctuary at least once before.):

1. Open the Zoom App on your computer.

2. Click on Join a Meeting

3. Click on the dropdown arrow in the Meeting ID or Personal Link Name box and select Awakening Together Sanctuary from the list. (This will only work if you clicked the Sanctuary link at least once before.)

4. Once you’ve selected the Sanctuary, the following code will appear in the box. Click Join to enter the Sanctuary.
