The purpose of this retreat is to help you take your next step with God (with Truth), whatever that next step may be for you. This retreat is for everyone on a spiritual path or embarking on a spiritual path, regardless of your current level of skill, insight or awareness.

At this retreat you will have ample time to go within through reading, contemplation, journaling and meditation while also having the opportunity to sit with Regina Dawn Akers in question and answer sessions each day. Private, personal guidance will be available for anyone who feels assistance is needed to reach a deeper quality of Truth/God awareness.

Through rotating periods of silence and purposeful conversation, you will have the opportunity to probe deeper into spiritual intuition, emerging from your exploration with greater clarity and insight.

Self-Inquiry Retreat, June 10-14

This retreat is based on the teaching of Indian sage, Ramana Maharshi. At this retreat, you will learn the subtleties of self-inquiry. You will participate in guided self-inquiry, meditative self-inquiry, self-inquiry with a partner, journaling based on self-inquiry, and you will contemplate and discuss quotes by Ramana Maharshi.

The purpose of this retreat is to help you make advances in the process of self-inquiry in a very short time, so when you go home from the retreat you will be able to use self-inquiry more effectively to abide in the true Self and detach from the false self. Each participant will receive a book of Ramana Maharshi quotes about self-inquiry.

It’s Easter! Come celebrate resurrection day with us!

Beginning Saturday, April 27, the Awakening Together Sanctuary will be open on Saturdays from 11am-12pm ET (8-9am PT) for a new weekly group, NTI Circle.

NTI Circle is designed to support the Gentle Healing Year 1 curriculum; however everyone interested in The Holy Spirit’s Interpretation of the New Testament (NTI) is invited to attend.

The group will be led by Aggie Mitchkoski, which some of you may know as our Forum Administrator. Aggie will open the Sanctuary a few minutes before the group begins each Saturday, and she will close the Sanctuary once the group meeting ends.

Join us for Movie Watcher’s  Group on Sunday, April 28 at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT.  This month’s movie, “Gandhi,” presents major events in the life of Mohandas Gandhi (Ben Kingsley), the beloved Indian leader who stood against British rule over his country. Ghandhi was dedicated to the concept of nonviolent resistance. Mahatma Gandhi remains a dimly understood historical figure. A lot of us know he was a great Indian leader without quite knowing why and such is our ignorance of Eastern history and culture we may not fully realize that his movement did indeed liberate India, in one of the greatest political and economic victories of all time, achieved through nonviolent principles. This film reminds us that we are capable of the most extraordinary and wonderful achievements, simply through the use of our imagination, our will, and our sense of right.

We will provide an update when a playsheet is available.

Retreat Schedule

The retreat will begin at 10am on Monday, June 10 and end at 3pm on Friday, June 14. The schedule during the retreat will vary each day and will include silent walks and contemplative outings in beautiful Colorado. Please bring good hiking or walking shoes. We recommend arriving in La Veta on or before Sunday, June 9 and departing on or after Saturday, June 15. You are welcome to stay at the Retreat House for up to 28 days on personal retreat. Longer stays require special permission.

Please note in your calendars that starting April 23, 2019 our new Awakening Together Sanctuary Schedule will be as follows: Tuesday April 23 Gentle Healing year 1 with Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert and Connie Poole will begin a half hour earlier. It will now be a 2-hour long program that begins at 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm ET. Gentle Healing year 3 with Regina will remain the same. But then the Sanctuary will close half an hour earlier, just after Gentle Healing Year 3.

Also, please note that Shawna Summers will no longer be on Tuesdays. Her new time slot will be on Sundays just after Regina Dawn Aker’s program called The Guiding Light, that will now be only a half-hour program. Look for Shawna at her new time of 7:30 pm ET on Sundays.
