Coming to Peace with Pain

Rev. Joanne shared about how we go through most of our life trying to avoid pain.  But pain can be an important part of our spiritual journey.  In the teaching this week we will discuss how we have avoided pain and how we can use pain to deepen our spiritual experience and to find peace. Detaching from Littleness

Rev. Gloria Wells spoke about a very common false belief, the belief in our littleness. Grandiosity is a defense mechanism that hides this belief. Our true Grandeur is denied through the defense of grandiosity and the belief in our littleness.

Come into the Sanctuary and join with us every Sunday morning at 10:15am ET for Awakening Together’s Weekly Gathering. 

The Awakening Together weekly gathering is a special time in the week reserved for the assembly of all members and friends. We join together online in musical celebration, interactive community, teaching, silence and contemplation. Each gathering is led by an Awakening Together minister. One member and an Awakening Together Administrator will assist in the gathering. Everyone is invited to participate at specific times during the gathering.

Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert’s topic was: “Taking Stock: Spiritually Speaking”.

Rev. Jacquelyn discussed how we sometimes need to stop and take stock of both the habits we engage in and our intentions to determine whether our experience aligns with our motives.  She read us an article on Taking a Spiritual Assessment of our lives:

It is not too late to take stock of our lives, even in the last weeks and days of terminal illness. And for those of us in the midst of life, in the apparent safety and security of our health, it is not too early. No matter how much time we have left to live, the answers to the following questions, voiced in the quiet honesty of our own hearts, provide direction to the rest of our living.
