Description:

Realization has many stages. With the awakening of mind, the Self is clearly cognized as separate from relative experience. This brings the ability for mind to rest in and as awareness. As the heart awakens, it sees the world and itself as united and undivided, birthing compassion for all of life. With the awakening of the body, form knows itself to be God, and that “all this is That”.

Each week we will focus on a particular aspect of consciousness waking up to itself. The final session will be focused on living a life of integrated spirit and form.

Teaching in the Awakening Together Sanctuary is a great way to strengthen your ability to allow spontaneous inner wisdom to come through you.

If you are interested in taking a half-hour time slot and teaching in the Awakening Together Sanctuary, please submit a program proposal. Here’s how:

1. Take a look at the Program Schedule and pick an open 30-minute time slot that fits your schedule.
2. Select an inspirational book to inspire your sharing. Here is a list of books for you to consider, but you are not restricted to this list when picking the right book for you.
3. Decide on a name for your program.
4. Write to awakeningtogethersanctuary@gmail.com with a brief program proposal to include the desired time slot, the name of your program and a brief description. For example:
   I am interested in taking a time slot in the Sanctuary on Monday evenings. I could teach at either 7pm or 7:30pm ET. I would like to share from The Unfindable Query by Scott Kiloby. I want to learn Scott’s method of inqury. I plan to read from Scott’s book, share about what I am reading, and practice Scott’s query method on myself as part of my program. The title for my program is “Insight Through Inquiry.”

You may also propose the number of weeks you would like to teach or you may leave it open-ended. Once we receive your proposal, we will review it and get back to you.

The Wisdom of Kabbalah

This class is 3 weeks long.

One strength of Kabbalah is its deep contemplation of the nature of God. Rabbi David Cooper wrote, “The closest we can come to thinking about God is as a process rather than a being. We can think of it as ‘be-ing,’ as verb rather than noun. Perhaps we would understand the process better if we renamed God. We might call It God-ing, a process, rather than God, which suggests a noun.”

Join us in Introduction to Kabbalah, contemplate God with us, and see if some of your concepts do not fall away as you grasp the meaning of Reality.

In this class you will learn:

1.   The participant will consider the question “What is God?” deeply from more than one Kabbalistic point of view.

2. The participant will contemplate the Kabbalistic teaching of “ongoing creation” and, with awareness of this spiritual law, determine how he/she wants to live/be.

3. The participant will contemplate and become clear on the difference between spiritual belief and spiritual practice.

Class Schedule:

Wednesday evenings, February 22 – March 8, 2017 from 9:30pm-11:30pm ET, 6:30-8:30pm Pacific.
Homework begins February 16.

Join us for Movie Watcher’s  Group on Sunday, January 22  at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT.   This month’s movie is “Kumaré”, a documentary about a man who impersonates a wise Indian Guru and builds a following in Arizona. At the height of his popularity, the Guru Kumaré must reveal his true identity to his disciples and unveil his greatest teaching of all.

The movie is available on most provider sites including Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Google Play, etc.  Watch the movie with Spirit, then come and share your insights with the group.  Guided movie watching allows us to experience our world and practice forgiveness without leaving our living room!  It is recommended you join with Spirit in meditation or prayer prior to viewing the movie and then journal after.  Watch for common themes, for characters you like or don’t like, for situations that seem to cause discomfort or joy.  Contemplate what your reactions to the movie tell you about your beliefs about yourself and the world you live in.  Bring what you learn back to the group and learn from others’ movie watching experience as well.  Enjoy the movie and don’t forget to watch your mind!

Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert will interview Mary Reed.
