Twenty-one members will be ordained as Awakening Together ministers in two ordination ceremonies this weekend.

February 27 Ordination Ceremony in Colorado

Wanda Almonte, Helen Avery, Kelly Barber, Carrie Rae Christiansen, Sherry Daves, Ken Gibson, Rebecca Gibson, Irene Graham, Share Murphy, Rubye Nasser, Sandra Ruiz, Hal Seeley, Karen Worth, Danielle Wright, and Francine Wright will be ordained at a ceremony at the Awakening Together Winter Retreat in Colorado on Saturday, February 27.

February 28 Ordination Ceremony in the Awakening Together Sanctuary

Bartholomew Craig, Hank Hamilton, Deloris Mabins-Adenekan, Jane Polley-Bass, Jacqueline Tullo, and Gloria Wells will be ordained at an online ceremony in the Awakening Together Sanctuary on Sunday, February 28 at 9pm ET.

It is recommended you join with Spirit in meditation or prayer prior to viewing the movie and then journal after. Watch for common themes, for characters you like or don’t like, for situations that seem to cause discomfort or joy. Contemplate what your reactions to the movie tell you about your beliefs about yourself and the world you live in. Bring what you learn back to the group and learn from others’ movie watching experience as well. Enjoy the movie and don’t forget to watch your mind!

People and things take on a lighter, more illusory-like appearance. The sense of separation is seen through.

You don’t have to suffer anymore within a personal story that leaves you feeling “not there yet,” “not good enough,” or some other deficiency story. You no longer have to chase the future for a happiness that always seems out of reach. We have been falsely conditioned to believe that we are separate, deficient people and that our stories are who we are. In this conditioning, we have learned to avoid uncomfortable feelings and sensations. Scott’s sites and books are the various ways he speaks to seeing through these stories and conditioning, so that we can feel emotions and sensations directly (instead of trying to escape what is), and live in the present moment without identifying with thought.

This Spirit Led Movie Watchers Discussion Group will facilitate the participants’ ability to identify spiritual themes in everyday movies and to use movies as a way of uncovering unconscious beliefs about ourselves and the world we live in.

The first session will be an introduction, including suggestions about what to look for within the movies and what to notice within ourselves while watching and ideas about movies that participants would like to discuss in future sessions.
