Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of Love.

Interfaith Prayer Vigil for Peace (ISIS Prayer Vigil) is Scheduled for February 1 & Awakening Together Will Participate
James Twyman will be joined by a large group of Jewish, Christian and Muslim leaders in Syria on February 1 for a Peace Concert and Prayer Vigil known as The Great Abrahamic Pulse. Millions of people worldwide will join them in simultaneous meditation and prayer by focusing loving attention on the mideast region, and …
Awakening Together is going to participate from the Sanctuary!
Imagine what will happen when millions of people from around the world send a pulse of Light AT THE SAME MOMENT to heal a situation created by violence and hatred. The religious leaders will be ON THE GROUND with James, on a spot that for security issues will not be advertised until right before the event. BUT THEY WILL BE THERE…and so will you! They are putting themselves in the very midst of the violence to prove that ONLY LOVE IS REAL. This is the foundation of all great religions, especially Christianity, Judaism and Islam.
The goal is to have millions of people “feel” the energy of peace already prevailing in the region, as if it is already true. When we “ask” for peace to prevail we do not harness the energy of I AM Consciousness, which is at the heart of this prayer vigil. This short video will give you a dramatic head-start.
CLICK HERE TO WATCH IT NOW.
The exact time of the Prayer Vigil will not be announced until 12 hours before the vigil. However, Awakening Together will stop regular programming in Sanctuary at the time of the vigil and participate in the vigil from the Awakening Together Sanctuary.
How To Know When to Come for the Vigil
We will send a special message to everyone who is scheduled for the Daily Update to let you know when the vigil is scheduled. Please, join with us in the Awakening Together Sanctuary for the vigil so we can be a part of this loving intention envisioned by our friend, James.

Awakening Together Satsang with Timothy Conway #3
Timothy Conway has been our Satsang guest twice before. As Timothy’s website says, “This Timothy Conway fellow is a story within a dream… A mere, mortal figment pointing you back to the immortal Divine Dreamer, Your Real Self, the One Who Alone IS.”
Although this Satsang touched on many topics, Timothy spoke at length about the merits of veganism.
About Timothy:
After a sudden, vivid, and completely life-changing spiritual awakening in his 16th year in February 1971, occurring not by efforts or drugs (never took any drugs), but entirely by Divine Grace, an exploding open of the heart-mind with the nondual realization that “God alone is Real, HERE and NOW, and we—the personified manifestations of God— are all truly made of Divine Spirit, Love, Joy, and Peace”—his life has been gratefully devoted ever since then to freely sharing, with anyone sincerely interested, the profoundly healing and empowering truth of Infinite Open Awareness, the “real Reality” right HERE (closer than the mind), and right NOW (always the true Reality before you can even think about this Self).
After awakening, Timothy immersed himself in the study of spiritual teachings that point toward truth, which gives him the ability to speak of his experience using the language and symbols of many different teachings. He also spent time studying directly with Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, who he refers to as his mentor.
Timothy’s clarity is expressed lovingly. He encourages a healthy relationship with spirituality, one that recognizes the absolute as truth yet interacts gently and compassiontately with the relative self and world.

And then come back to the Sanctuary this evening at 8pm ET for Satsang with an old friend, Timothy Conway.
Timothy Conway has been our Satsang guest twice before. He was also a speaker at our 2014 Fall Retreat in Santa Barbara. As Timothy’s website says, “This Timothy Conway fellow is a story within a dream… A mere, mortal figment pointing you back to the immortal Divine Dreamer, Your Real Self, the One Who Alone IS.” Timothy gives Satsang for free in his Santa Barbara home every Tuesday night. Having “participated in different sacred traditions and delved deeply into the extant sacred literature, including many hundreds of rarely-read works on the most subtle and advanced levels of spiritual enlightenment and liberation,” Timothy is very clear on the one true teaching as it appears through many spiritual paths.
Root Cause Inquiry by Hal Seeley
Many years ago a friend of mine introduced me to the book “Stepping Free of Limiting Patterns” written by a wonderful lady named Pat McCallum. What Pat wrote was a discovery of how to identify limiting patterns in one’s life and to re-pattern them to remove the limits imposed by the old patterns. I used her process very successfully for many years and often coached others in how to use it for themselves. I was so pleased with this process and how well it worked for me that I did not realize until this day that I assumed it was pretty much the same as “Root Cause Inquiry” (RCI) presented by Regina Dawn Akers. I was so enamored with Pat’s process that when I was introduced to Regina’s process I simply did not think I needed it and glossed over it as it was presented in the MPP class, True Discernment. As I was looking back at the lesson that presented RCI I found to my astonishment that I hadn’t answered the questions, and basically had never used RCI because I thought Pat McCallum’s process to be sufficient for self-inquiry.
But as things go I felt a need to take another look at RCI today because of something that was triggering in me a sense of failure and an inherent weakness. I found the audio and a handout at Regina’s web site under “A second dozen classics”. As I began to read the print out I began the inquiry by writing the upset I was experiencing. I didn’t get very far because in the printed instructions it says we must first accept an assumption that “If my mind was perfectly healed, nothing would upset me, not even this.” Now I’m sure there are many of you reading this that had no problem with an assumption, but I was stopped in my tracks. Having performed self-inquiry for many years, now I immediately recognized resistance. I reread the sentence many times and could not see what the resistance was. Even though ‘assuming’ was a bad word in the military, I fully understood what Regina was doing using this word in her instructions. Still, there was an underlying resistance but I convinced myself to go forward with trust that it would work out in the end.
I began the question and answer procedure and drilled down to the root cause after a few iterations and sure enough, my resistance floated up into my consciousness and exposed itself in all its shinning glory. The root cause was the very thing causing the resistance. My upset was because I thought a certain behavior (sub-consciously believed to be a sin) on my part needed to be let go in order for me to become of perfect mind. The suggested assumption held that I was already of perfect mind – and there was the resistance. I could not be, nor assume, a perfectly healed mind unless I changed my behavior first. And this was my upset. I held the belief that I was preventing my mind from healing by my behavior, so I couldn’t possibly put the cart before the horse and assume a perfectly healed mind before the behavior was changed. I was experiencing what is described in A Course in Miracles as being caught up in circular reasoning.
Looking back at why it took so long to utilize Root Cause Inquiry and how simple it was to clear away an upset that I have had for many years, I see that Stepping Free of Limiting Patterns is not the same as stepping free from guilt.

The Teachings of Ramana Maharshi – A 6-Week Class Begins in February
This class is 6 weeks long.
Ramana Maharshi was born on December 30, 1879 in a village in Tamil, India. His father died when he was twelve, and he went to live with his uncle. At age 16, he experienced a sudden and extreme fear of death to which he responded by immediately seeking the truth of the Self and became Self-realized. Six weeks later he followed an inner calling and ran away to India’s holy hill, Arunachala, where he remained for the rest of his life. For years he was a silent ascetic. He spent many hours each day deep in samadhi. Years later he emerged from silence to share the wisdom of the True Self with those who came seeking it. Before the end of his life in 1950, thousands of people had come to him from all over the world. Ramana Maharshi became known as one of the greatest saints to have ever graced this planet with Presence.
Join us as we contemplate the teachings of this great sage. We will also read stories about about him told by the people who knew him best.
In this class you will:
1. Consider the legend, the living example and the teachings of a great sage and determine what is most helpful to one’s own spiritual process.
