Announcing March’s Movie Watcher’s Movie: “The Matrix”
Join us for our next Movie Watcher’s Group on Sunday, March 25 at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT. This month’s movie,”The Matrix”, is a metaphysical masterpiece of the transcendence of belief. Thomas A. Anderson is a man living two lives. By day he is an average computer programmer and by night a computer hacker known as Neo. Neo has always questioned his reality, but the truth is far beyond his imagination. Neo finds himself targeted by the police when he is contacted by Morpheus, a legendary computer hacker branded a terrorist by the government. Morpheus awakens Neo to the real world, a ravaged wasteland where most of humanity have been captured by a race of machines that live off of the humans’ body heat and electrochemical energy and who imprison their minds within an artificial reality known as the Matrix. As a rebel against the machines, Neo must return to the Matrix and confront the agents: super-powerful computer programs devoted to snuffing out Neo and the entire human rebellion. Stars: Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss
You can find the movie playsheet, which provides helpful questions designed to facilitate a spirit centered movie watching experience, at this link: The Matrix Playsheet.
Remember to ask for Guidance prior to watching the movie and bring your insights to the Movie Watcher’s Discussion Group.
The movie is available to rent on ITunes, Amazon, YouTube and Vudu.
Join us for our Monthly Satsang with Floyd Henderson, Sunday, March 18, 7:30 – 9 pm ET (4:30 – 6 pm PST)
Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert will interview Floyd Henderson.
The Realisation of SELF means the shattering of the shell of separation so that the non-dual nature of Reality is directly known. How can this be different from person to person? Only in the ABSENCE of the person is this nature revealed. In this way, Floyd Henderson invites us to strip away all that is personal, all that is dualistic, all that separates us from this understanding of Oneness from our True Selves.
The summative statement I AM THAT; I AM describes that understanding of SELF in absolute terms as well as its expression in the relative. Floyd Henderson is THAT just like all human beings; however, Floyd is fixed unshakably in this understanding, so all functioning, relatively speaking, flows directly from this SELF-Knowledge.
In this way, the biographical details (such as, born in Louisiana; moved to Texas; worked as a teacher and business owner over several decades before taking early retirement to write; father of a daughter named Ashley; current resident in the community of Walden on Lake Conroe in Texas; years of seeking followed by twenty-five months in the forest dweller stage and experiencing a vision that resulted in the dramatic peripetia or flash of Realization; functioning as a Direct Path, Nisargan teacher; and author of over forty Advaita books) are the attributes or flavourings which coloured the pure consciousness in the particular shape and form at the relative level.
Yet, these attributes are false ingredients. They cannot provide a true answer to the question Who is Floyd Henderson? because he recognizes no who-ness at all … believes in no who that is living here at all. (From the forward by Louise Sterling for the book, The Advanced Seekers Series, Vol 1).
Floyd shares this additional information about his life:
during my early years I lived eight months out of the year with my parents in a dangerous part of a city on a street with two gang leaders and where I witnessed a stabbing on that same street before I was eight years old. The other four months of the year, I lived with my Cherokee / Medicine Woman Grandmother in her cabin in the piney woods of East Texas. Thus it was that by the ages of 5 and 6, I did not know either the term “duality” or the term “non-duality” but I had already witnessed both at play. In the part of the city where my parents lived – called “the slum” – the misery and suffering generated by duality-based thinking and talking and behaving was observed. By contrast, I had witnessed the type of existence which Grandmother enjoyed – and which she and I shared – because it unfolded in a non-dual style which allowed her to model peace and Love and contentment and independence and freedom from concepts.
Floyd’s books, including The Advanced Seekers Series for those seeking Realization via the Advaita teachings, can be found on his website: FloydHenderson.com

Not Too Late To Watch This Month’s Movie Watcher’s Movie: “Vanilla Sky”
Join us for our next Movie Watcher’s Group on Sunday, January 28 at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT. This month’s movie,”Vanilla Sky”, is about a man struggling with defining happiness and ultimately, with distinguishing illusion from reality.
Tom Cruise plays David, who is plagued by dreams. Nightmares, really. He’s not always sure where his nocturnal fantasies end and his day-to-day life begins. Moviegoers will be even less sure than he is. Just when you think you’ve pegged what’s what, Vanilla Sky’s dreamscape takes another turn.
The movie is available to rent on ITunes and Amazon (not Prime) YouTube and Vudu.
Watch the movie with Spirit, then come and share your insights with the group. Guided movie watching allows us to experience our world and practice forgiveness without leaving our living room! It is recommended you join with Spirit in meditation or prayer prior to viewing the movie and then journal after. Watch for common themes, for characters you like or don’t like, for situations that seem to cause discomfort or joy. Contemplate what your reactions to the movie tell you about your beliefs about yourself and the world you live in. Bring what you learn back to the group and learn from others’ movie watching experience as well. Enjoy the movies and don’t forget to watch your mind!
Join us for our Monthly Satsang with Suse Wicks, this Sunday, January 21, 7:30 – 9 pm ET (4:30 – 6 pm PST)
Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert will interview Suse Wicks.
Suse describes her journey: In 1987 my husband took his life. What followed immediately after were numerous experiences of the deepest love and clarity I had ever known. So profound were these experiences that a love I had never known before filled my daily canvas of life from moment to moment entirely. In an instant I knew there was one God, in an instant I knew there existed pure causeless, joy, love and deep peace regardless of my circumstances and most of all, in an instant I knew it was all deeply within me. So complete was this knowing that I became hell bent on figuring out how to expand this deliciousness of loving life so joyously, despite the shroud of widowhood with two young children. I held onto one truth: if something existed it could expand and grow. Without a shadow of a doubt I knew love, peace and joy existed beyond anything my mind or experiences had ever demonstrated thus what I was experiencing could grow and expand within me. It was also clear that I could not return to the old way of seeing and perceiving, nothing of my past made sense. My life continued for some time between pure happiness and deep suffering. The many glimpses I had of my natural self led me on the spiritual path that ensued for many years, many teachers, many studies only to discover after much exhaustion that what I was looking to expand and grow was always, always right under my nose, even closer, always accessible at any instant. The awakening in knowing that I was not in charge and the fact that there is no separate self led to the melting away of all concepts of identifying myself as a separate self. What remained was the return to all the instances I experienced after my husbands death only this time it was permanent. What I am and who you are, have and always will be life itself, that is the spiritual search we will all come to sooner or later.
The tiniest drop of pure love felt in one’s being is a force powerful enough to abandon all else for the sake of discovering more…. it is the discovery of who you truly are. Suse points the way to discovering who you are through questions, answers and story.”

Both movies are available to rent on ITunes and Amazon (not Prime). In addition, you can watch both movies with commentary by John Mark Stroud at his website: OneWhoWakes.Org.

Join us for our Monthly Satsang with Rev. Amy Torres, this Sunday, November 19, 7:30 – 9 pm ET (4:30 – 6 pm PST)
Rev. Jacquelyn Eckert will interview Rev. Amy Torres.
Amy Torres is a well-loved spiritual teacher, author, and retired Gestalt psychotherapist. She has helped countless people regain their lives through a process she terms “unravelization” – safely structuring meltdowns, temper tantrums and nervous breakdowns for repressed and imploding adults desperately in need of release. The idea is that by unraveling and falling apart we encounter new psychological terrain in which fresh realizations and breakthroughs can arise.
Although Reverend Torres was guided to formal ministry training and was ordained by One Spirit Interfaith Seminary in 2008, she considers herself “an undercover minister” meaning that her work is to embody Love and Light and allow her Presence to heal all within her sphere, often without mentioning God, or even speaking a word.
You can read her popular column, Ask Amy, in Miracles magazine. Her book, Sweet Dreams of Awakening, is available at www.amazon.com. Her e-course, Workin’ the Workbook, is a rich companion to your ACIM Workbook practice. Amy’s Blog has many essays and articles on A Course in Miracles. Her website is AmyTorresACIM.com. She works with people nationally and internationally via phone and Skype. To contact her, email miracles@amytorresacim.com or call 212-340-1201.
