Helpful hint: If someone private messages you via the forum and you receive that notice through your regular email account please be sure to respond to that private message through the forum and not your email. The video mentions this as a friendly reminder. 😊

For those who write your posts in MS Word and copy to the forum

MS Word contains much invisible coding that can cause your posts in the forum to do some crazy things. If you use MS Word for your permanent copy, use the icon for pasting as plain text (little clipboard with a T in it). That way any extra coding is removed. You’ll be much happier if you do!

Make your writing area bigger.

This has only taken me almost two years to find. If you find the writing window too small to really see what you’ve wrote.

This little divet at the bottom of the writing area can be used to make your writing window bigger! Yay!

I hit the REPLY like always. A screen popped up "there was a problem with your draft". All that was written disappeared. Where did it go?

With the change to the Gentle Healing forum format when you look at the forum for Gentle Healing 1, for example you see this.

If you click on the downward arrow in front of Forum you will see this.

The downward arrow opens up all the forums within the parent category and you'll find the new forum for the new year as well as any forums from previous years.

ALSO NOTE: that as the same group of individuals move from year one to year two and then to three, the forum will follow the teachers and not the year. A new forum is added for each year to show the transition. And you can find these forums as indicated above.

Sending and Receiving Private Messages

You have the ability to private message other members in the forum. Depending on your permission level in the forum you might see different options. In a post, to the left is the person's avatar and for some of you, beneath the picture there will be icons, one of which is an envelope. If you click on it, it will open a page/window where you can send a private message to that person.

Or, if you do not see any icons, you can just click on their picture and it will take you to their profile page where you can click on SEND A MESSAGE.

What about when you receive a private message?

When you log in, a bubble will appear near your login that will tell you you have a private message. You might also receive an email telling you you have received a private message. OR you can just click on MY PROFILE in the forum navigational bar. It will open up a page with options to see and send private messages, delete, add others to the conversation...

If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page there is link for UNREAD POSTS which will bring up only any posts you haven't read. After you've looked them over, read the ones you want, go back to the bottom of the page and click on MARK ALL READ and even the ones you didn't want to read will be marked read.

Then the next time you come here, and click UNREAD POSTS, only posts that have been posted since you were last here will be shown to you. Great way to maneuver posts.
